54% of Middle Americans – those with household incomes of between $35,000 and $150,000 – worry about their household financial situation. Their top financial concern is debt. Four in 10 say they bring their financial problems to work at least once per week.
According to a recent report by PricewaterhouseCooper, 50% of American workers are spending three or more hours each week at work dealing with personal financial issues. 12% of employees admit to missing work occasionally due to financial worries. 28% or workers say that their health has been affected by financial worries.
Six in 10 Millennials – those ages 21 to 37 – would be interesting in receiving budgeting education and assistance at work. Seven in 10 would welcome full financial planning services.
Employers spend between $10,000 and $50,000 per year for each employee that delays retirement for financial reasons.
